This section describes the new features and enhancements in Styra DAS On-premises 0.5.3.

API

• The compliance API continues in the background if it times out. This release allows large clusters and stacks to access the compliance APIs.

• The /v1/decisions API now has a ?compact flag that omits the input or output in the decisions list.

CLI

• Creating a Kubernetes system-type through the CLI now prints a deprecation warning.

Data Sources

• The HTTP poll data sources can now apply a Rego policy to filter and transform incoming data before it is saved in DAS.

• The masks now support complex names that contains . (dot), / (slash), ' (quotes), or " (double quotes) symbols.

Git

• DAS now enforces a uniqueness check for Git Repository configurations across systems, stacks, and workspaces configurations.

GUI

• The inventory can now filter the display of information on Systems, Stacks, or Libraries.

• Rule cards now support drag and drop between enforcement columns.

• Browser tabs now have more meaningful names.

• This release introduces branch indicator status for tracked files.

Systems

• DAS now supports Terraform system type. The Terraform system type helps you put guardrails onto the public cloud resources you manage with Terraform. For more details, read the Styra blog.

• Envoy systems now allow /health by default.

• This release adds a system dialog that reorders system-types in alphabetical order.

Issues Fixed

This section describes the issues fixed in Styra DAS On-premises 0.5.3.

API

• Added a consistent set of labels for the timeseries and system metrics APIs.

Git

• Fixed the Git configuration pane for Library to display the current configuration rather than erroneously defaulting to SSH even for HTTPS-based configurations.

GUI

• Replayed advice decisions to show up as advice instead of allowed.

• Fixed an issue where the Timeseries service failed to collect stacks or systems compliance violations and mutations counts correctly; resulting in a period of zero violations on the dashboard.

• This release added packs without being required to have drafts.

• Fixed the links in GitLab repositories to display correctly in the UI.

• The UI’s Rego parser does not allow an import aliased to data or input.

• Fixed an issue where the DISABLE_LOCAL_LOGIN_IF_SSO_ENABLED flag failed.

Metrics

• Fixed an issue in timeseries metrics when querying decisions resulting from Envoy systems.
